Cappella e villa di Santa Brigida

Description:
On the hill of Santa Brigida, visible from San Maurizio, today stand a villa surrounded by greenery, in ancient times there stood a small country chapel, subsequently used by the Augustian friars, until the mid-nineteenth century, when the property, upon decision of the Administration municipal, was sold to private individuals.
It was built starting in 1873 and consecrated in 1828, the year in which it also underwent a restoration.
It has a rectangular plan and is made up of two bodies: the entrance, surmounted by a gable roof and a second, raised part, which includes the bell tower, an ovoid dome and is completed by a metal cross.
The facade, however, is divided into two parts by a round stringcourse and in correspondence with the portal, it is marked by two corner pilasters with Doric capitals and entablature.
The main front is crowned by a triangular pediment, while the side walls are marked by three pilasters with Doric capitals.
The entrance to the chapel is a small wooden portal, protected by a gate.
