Description:
The building, with a solemn basilical aspect, has five naves with cruciform pillars, cross vaults and a polygonal apse. The left side nave, clearly asymmetrical, is the result of seventeenth-century expansions, and was probably created from an external portico. On the right of the entrance, near the side door, there is a Pietà or Deposition from the 16th century, while at the opposite end of the wall there is a fresco from the second half of the 15th century, depicting the Madonna and Child , work of the “Master of Cercenasco”. In the apse there are eighteenth-century paintings: the “Birth of the Virgin” by Claudio Francesco Beaumont and the “Ascension of Our Lord Jesus Christ” by Giuseppe Petrini.
The Romanesque bell tower dates back to 1336, and has three orders of double and triple lancet windows and a high octagonal spire.
